Help fund a much-needed surgery for D. Kante

The Manager of the Fongoli Savanna Chimpanzee Project, Dondo "Johnny" Kante, has been working for me for almost 20 years. He is in dire need of medical care that he cannot receive in his home country of Senegal. We are planning on obtaining this procedure (surgery for a hiatal hernia, which is getting worse) in France. Senegal is a former French colony, and there is a relationship between the 2 countries, which facilitates this kind of opportunity for medical care. 

We hope to be able to make this happen within the next few months, and we are currently working on the paperwork for the visa and with Dondo's current doctor in Dakar. Many former students have had Dondo help them with their research at Fongoli, and a number of people have and are helping him solve this problem. 

We are seeking funds to help pay for the surgery itself and any associated hospital costs, as Dondo will be able to recuperate at the home of a former colleague. We welcome any and all funds, no matter how big or small - and please share our campaign!

Additionally, I will match the amount raised here with my personal funds.
