Help Fulfill Caley's Bucket List

Donation protected
This GoFundMe page is dedicated to one of the most selfless, kindest, smartest, funniest, and beautiful human beings I know.

Her name is Caley Buxton. Caley has been diagnosed with Metastatic breast cancer, and has been given just over 4 years to live. She is a 31-year old Colorado native with an undergrad degree in physics from Colorado State, and recently graduated with her masters in Medical Physics from Duke University. Caley's specific focus within Medical Physics is breast cancer, which caused finishing her degree to become overwhelmingly difficult, given she was fighting against the same disease she was studying. However, she fought through and was able to finish her degree because she knew her research would help others in the future.

Caley also enjoys writing and has actually written a few books, one of which she has graciously let me read.  When she received her most recent diagnosis, she said that if she had more time and energy, she would have loved to travel the world and go on vacations. However, due to the low energy and limited time, the only thing left on her bucket list is publishing this book. She has mentioned to me that this book is a work of love and helped comfort her while she was managing this disease and life in general. This book is a Christian Fiction Love Story and it is out-of-this-world amazing! It instills hope, love, and optimism in its readers, as well as shows the love of God and his greatness in difficult situations.

As some may not realize, publishing a book takes a lot of time, energy, and money. While she diligently pays back the cost of her education and master’s degree as well as paying for all the other everyday expenses of a 31 year old, my hope is that we can cover the cost for Caley to publish her book.

Caley is an incredible person and has always cared so much for everyone around her. I realized this when I first met her at diving practice, as she looked out for me and unintentionally mentored me for years to come. She is two years older, and from day one I looked up to her and wanted to be like her in every way. Her perspective on life and confidence in the Lord is one to be admired by all who meet her. She has taught me so much about what it looks like to be a follower of Christ and to trust in Him. I am eternally grateful for this time I've had with her, as I have had the opportunity to learn from her and have witnessed how she has devoted her life to Christ and His plan. Despite her condition, her selflessness has kept her from doing much for herself, as she continually looks for new ways to serve others and make the world around her a better place. It is time that the rest of us show our love for her by giving her this opportunity (even if you may not know her personally!). I know it would mean the world to her.

FYI - she is completely unaware of this and would never have allowed me to put something like this together for her! With that being said, if you know Caley, please do not mention this to her or her family.

Please feel free to donate to this cause in whatever capacity you are able! By contributing to this fund, you are giving Caley a tangible legacy to leave behind, and allowing her to realize one of her longest-lasting dreams.
