Fuji is our energetic, charismatic one-and-a-half-year-old cat who brings so much joy to our home. She loves cuddling on the couch, chasing her big brother, Eddie, and always tries to sneak treats when we’re cooking in the kitchen. Fuji is the heart of our family, always greeting guests with affection and keeping everyone entertained with her playful spirit. She’s always been healthy, so seeing her struggle has been incredibly difficult for us.

Recently, Fuji began treatment for a mild parasitic infection after our other cat, Cleo, tested positive for Giardia. Unfortunately, after just two doses of medication, Fuji developed severe vomiting and diarrhea, both with significant blood. She stopped eating and drinking, which led us to rush her to the emergency vet. Despite receiving hydration, anti-nausea medication, and probiotics, her condition didn’t improve. We returned to the emergency room for further testing, including an ultrasound and blood work, and we’re still waiting for results to determine the next steps for her care.

This experience has been emotionally and financially overwhelming for our family. We’ve exhausted our emergency funds on Fuji’s treatments and multiple vet visits, and it’s affected our ability to keep up with work and other bills. We’re doing everything we can to make sure Fuji gets the care she needs, but we need help to continue her treatment and give her the best chance at recovery. Any support will go directly toward her ongoing veterinary care and help us get through this challenging time.

UPDATE:

After 24 hours of hospitalization, she has been sent home with no real diagnosis. Ultrasound and blood work came back normal. We are giving more anti-nausea meds and some medications to encourage her to eat. She will also need to be on a bland diet for the next week. The vet recommended monitoring for now, but if she doesn't make improvements within the next day or two, then she will require full hospitalization.
