Help Fuel My Success This Season

Hi! My name is Jonah Steinberg and I am an 18 year old Cross Country Ski Racer from Canmore, AB.  I grew up in Calgary but have spent the last two seasons racing for the Canmore Nordic based: Team RAD as well as the  Alberta Ski team.  Balancing a part-time job, a University course at SAIT, as well as skiing full time, is not always an easy task, but I am always extremely thankful to be able to live this life. 

Skiing has been something that has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.  It has grown with me, and now pursuing it full time is a thought that consumes me; always thinking about how I can gain benefit from trying something new or reviewing technique videos every night before I go to bed.  When something like this is so powerful you want to spend every waking moment dreaming about achieving your goals. 


The reason I have created this fundraiser is to help support and fund my upcoming race season.  This season is going to cost about $19,000.  Of course none of this would be possible without the loving and financial support of my parents.

Some of the things that make up the $19,000 include:
- Team Fees
- Training Camps
- Equipment
- Team Outfit
- Racing expenses

But on top of all of that I will be taking 2 trips to Europe this year to test my ability against some of the best juniors in the world.  One trip with the Alberta Ski Team and the 2nd with Team RAD. Having this opportunity is something I am extremely grateful for but will come at a cost - the trips combined will cost about $5,500.

Career Highlights:

- Silver Medal at the Canadian National Championships in the team event

- Bronze Medal at  the Western Canadian Championships

- 8th place aggregate at 2016 Canadian National Championships

- Winner of the 2016 Norman Silver Sports leadership award


2017-2018 Season Goals

- Qualify to represent Canada at the World Junior Championships in Switzerland

- Win an individual Medal at the Canadian National Championships
