Daniel Fitzgibbon - selected for lung transplant

Daniel, or more commonly known as "Fritz" to his friends has finally been placed on the active list for a double lung transplant, after years of steady decline of his respiratory health. What started as a pulmonary embolism or blood clot in his lungs in 2016, rapidly became a downhill slide to...total disability.
After the blood clot came an advance case of Cardio Pulmonary Obstructive Disorder, then Emphysema and then finally topped off with large nodes developing in the lungs. A once healthy hard-working man was left bedridden at the age of 53. Fritz is married to a beautiful and very strong farmer, named Rachel.
Fritz will tell you that Rachael is a God sent angel who has made this situation, one that is blessed by undying love and her caring nature.
Rachel has bathed and fed Fritz for almost two years as he struggled to move or even breathe. She has raced, in her truck, behind the ambulance, she has dressed him and taken him to all his countless appointments, and through it all, remains positive and encouraging.
Fritz's income ceased in 2016 and they were left to count on Rachel to support the household. Rachel is a farmer who supplies market vegetables in a very small community where they reside. She also has a winter job at a local snow-cat skiing operation.
The opportunity to have a double lung transplant is a prayer answered for this loving couple!
This opportunity will require them to reside close to the hospital, which is about 700km. from where they live. This means maintaining two living situations at the same time, their farm and a residence close to the hospital for the duration of 3-6 months of recovery. This also means....Rachel will not be working!
This couple is fiercely independent! Rachel will be helping Fritz, encouraging him and coaching him back to health. Your kind gifts will allow them to focus on his recovery and the road back to a happy rest of their lives.
