<div>8 days after the birth of his daughter, <strong>Tomas Zaragoza was violently arrested by officers representing the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office on October 27th, 2024.</strong> According to Tomas' wife, he was a bit disoriented at first, having toasted with his family to celebrate the birth of his daughter, like any new father would, he did not initially comply with his detainment in fear of his status. <strong>The officers tased him, handcuffed him, then 3 of them started beating him on his head, back, and kidneys</strong>. Afterwards, they took him to Tuscaloosa County Jail.

<div>When Tomas' wife tried to get him out on bail, ICE took over and within a couple of weeks, he was taken to the infamous ICE concentration camp in Jena, Louisiana, where he's been stuck ever since.

<div>Along with being in the concentration camp, Tomas has missed the first year of his daughter's life, only getting to see her through video when his family can afford it. His detention doesn't only affect him, but his whole family. His daughter is growing up without a father, he was taking care of his father who has cancer, and his wife is barely hanging on while trying to be a single mother. <strong>He was the foundation of his family.</strong>

<div>Ocho días después del nacimiento de su hija, el dia 27 de Octubre del 2024, Tomas Salas Zaragoza, fue violentamente detenido por oficiales de la oficina de Sheriffs del condado de Tuscaloosa. De acuerdo con las declaraciones de la esposa de Tomas, el avia estado festejando el Nacimiento de su hija, como cualquier otro padre primeriso y por ende estava un poco desorientado en el momento de su arresto. Al principio de su arresto el no coopero con las autoridades por miedo a represalias por su estatus legal en el pais. Despues que los oficiales usaran un taser procedieron a esposarlo para despues brutalmente golpearlo en la cabeza, espalda y riñones. Despues de la brutal golpisa Tomas fue trasladado a una carcel del condado de Tuscaloosa.

<div>Despues de un par de semanas la esposa de Tomas intento pagar la fiansa para poder liberarlo pero fue envano pues oficiales de “ICE” ya lo abrian transladado a una carcel en Louisinana, donde a estado privado de su libertad hasta el dia de hoy.

<div>Ya a transcurrido un año desde la detencion de Tomas. Un año que no a sido facil para ninguno de sus familiars en especial para su esposa e hija. Tomas perdio la oportunidad de compartir el primer año de vida de su hija por su detencion. Tomas era la fuente economica procipal de su familia. Aparte de cuidar de su esposa e hija tambien se encargaba de los gastos de su papá el cual fue diacnosticado con cancer. Ahora su esposa esta pasando momentos muy dificiles por ser mamá soltera la cual tiene que dividir su tiempo entre atender a su hija y travajar para poder salir adelante durante la ausencia de Tomas.
