Hello, my name is Nursultan, and I am writing this with a heavy heart to ask for your help for my father, Momunbek. On January 17, 2026, our lives changed in an instant when my father was detained by ICE during a routine check-in in New York City. He is currently being held at the Delaney Hall Detention Facility in Newark, NJ. My father is more than just a statistic; he is the backbone of our family. But right now, we are terrified for his life. Momunbek suffers from serious chronic medical issues, including severe head and chest pain and a history of internal injuries. Detention is not a safe place for someone in his condition, and we are fighting every day to ensure he receives the medical attention he desperately needs.

 We are working with legal experts to file a Habeas Corpus petition and request a bond hearing to get him released on medical grounds. However, the costs are overwhelming. Specialized immigration attorneys for federal court cases are expensive, and gathering the necessary expert medical opinions to prove he is at risk adds to the burden. We also need to ensure we can keep our household running while our primary provider is taken from us.
