<div>My dad Freddy is nearing the end of his fight with cirrhosis, advanced liver disease, liver cancer, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and other complications. His final wish is for his remains to be laid to rest near his family, but I cannot fulfill this wish alone.

<div>My family and I are humbly asking for your help to cover some of the medical costs, funeral expenses, and the time away from work needed to care for him. My dad's wife works as part of a cleaning staff  and I'm a teacher in Rockville, MD, so our incomes can only go so far. Every dollar or share of this story means the world to our family. <div>My dad has always been a fighter. For years, he has endured the daily struggles of having diabetes and liver disease. Even as his body failed him, his spirit remained strong and pushed through the pain and challenges to care for our family. 

</div>

<div>In 2018, he was diagnosed with cirrhosis and has been dealing with a progressive illness that has been getting worse. In October 2024, he was diagnosed with Stage 3 liver cancer. His tumors are incredibly aggresive and one of them is growing right into a major vein. Unfortunately, in January 2025, we were told that his liver is just too diseased to withstand any kind of cancer treatments like chemo and radiation. As you can imagine, our family was devastated by this news, as we had so much hope to battle this new obstacle. Despite my dad fighting with everything he's had, he has been unresponsive for days now and his hospice team has shifted their focus towards end of life care and making my dad comfortable in the time he has left.

<div>It has been hard to see my dad go from being the rock of our family and the provider, to someone who has to rely on us for his every need. 

</div>

<div>Now that his health continues to decline, we believe it's our turn to support him in every possible way.

<div>Funds raised will be used to cover:

<div>Clothes and toiletries for the hospice, the cost of hospice care, cremation/funeral costs, lawyer fees for execution of the will, and household expenses. Your donations will also cover missed pay from not being able to work while navigating this, and all the other unexpected costs that will come up along the way. My priority is to make sure my dad has the best possible last days of his life, gets the opportunity to cross some things off his bucket list with his family, and most of all, that he feels loved and not alone.

Once he fully departs from this world, he will be survived by his wife, Lizette, and his 4 kids, Freddy (35), Noemi (32), Dennis (18, 12th grade), and Elizabeth (10, 5th grade).
