Help Fraser to get back on his feet after M.E.

Donation protected
My name is Fraser and I live in the United Kingdom.
I have had a good life and helped others, where able, throughout.
Sadly in 2011 I suffered an unknown Virus attack that went on to cause Erythema Nodosum. This is a nasty illness where the autoimmune system goes berserk and attacks healthy soft tissues in the body. After overcoming both the Virus and Erythema Nodosum I thought I was well again. Little did I know that a month later I would be struck down by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.)
aka “Chronic Fatigue Syndrome”. The medical profession did all the tests that they could, including checking for Parvovirus ! They diagnosed M.E. and advised that there was nothing more that could be done for me. I was in a permanent state of fatigue and any mental or physical activity would bring on a severe chronic fatigue attack.

Does this sound familiar…… people who have had COVID-19 virus and suffered “Long COVID” are exhibiting the same symptoms.

I battled M.E to keep working, but by 2015 it was clear that I would not overcome M.E. whilst still doing a very demanding job role. I left my job to focus on my recovery. The next 6 years were a journey through very challenging times for both me and my family. I did not qualify for state aid of any sort as M.E. is not recognised in the UK as a disability, yet it was preventing me working and earning an income. I lived on savings but they were limited and finite so life was hard. I continued to help others by sharing my electronic engineering knowledge on specialist forums but that was unpaid so just helped me to feel useful really.

I recovered enough from M.E. to seek work again in 2020. Sadly COVID-19 put a stop that that endeavour and I have had to be careful to not catch COVID-19 as that could be very bad news for me with my wonky autoimmune system. I am doing some very limited income fee paid work now for a company so it is baby steps to get back into the workplace and to be productive again.

This campaign is aimed at those who I have helped in the past and those who I will likely help in the future. If you want to help me to get back on my feet again, please consider making a small donation. The money will be spent on living expenses and repaying debts accumulated during my illness.

Any and all donations, however small, are much appreciated I can assure you :)

Thank You

Fraser
