Frank's Cancer is on the Run

but More Support is Needed

Frank is suffering with pancreatic cancer.  With your help we've raised $1,535. together to help fill in the gaps his HMO doesn't cover along with other expenses. More is needed to help Frank reach remission.

The good news is Frank's finally getting care at MD Anderson Center in Houston (away from his home in Las Vegas, NV) and his cancer is miraculously starting to shrink.  Thank God. However, it's expensive. Even for a person with insurance.

Doctors have told Frank he'll be at MD Anderson until mid-April. Every day he's there involved with clinical trials, getting tests, alternative treatments, and, consulting with his health care team.  Here's what he needs your donation to help cover.

* MD Anderson is an outpatient cancer research center - so he's paying for the cheapest motel he could find - five miles away.  $74 per night x 32 nights = $2,368.  (Accomodations closer to the Center are $200 a night and more.)

* Food - again on an outpatient basis: $20 per day x 32 days = $640

* Laundry - down the hall coin-op laundry at the motel. $12 per week x 5 weeks = $60

* Co-pays and deductibles.  Every time Frank gets a test, a pill, a service, a consult done there's a small co-pay that must be covered.  Since he's at the Center about eight hours a day we calculate this need at $1,200 for the next 32 days.

Add it all up it's $4,268. and that's not including the $1,535 already donated that went to travel expenses to get to Houston from home in Las Vegas and some of the expenses above so far.

That's why the total above is $4,268 plus     $1,535  =  $5,803.   

Frank's a Husband, a Father, and, our best friend.  He's stayed alive for 19 months since receiving the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and beaten the odds but he's not in remission yet.

He's getting the necessary treatment at MD Anderson Center in Houston TX but it's expensive - even for a patient with an HMO, like Frank.

MD Anderson Center is a state of the art facility where both traditional and alternative methods of healing are used with the highest success rates for remission - yes, even from pancreatic cancer.
