Help Frank Beat AML
Donation protected
Two years ago, Frank was diagnosed with Myleodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) a bone marrow cancer. MDS can remain dormant or sprout into something active. In March of this year, the MDS sprouted into Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) which attacked his lungs and looked like pneumonia. He barely made it in time to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) in Philadelphia. The AML diagnosis came as a shock to all who know and love Frank. And, he now has the fight of his life on his hands.
Thankfully, the top leukemia doctors at HUP and the Abramson Cancer Center were able to save him and he’s undergone two rounds of intensive chemotherapy since the end of March. The next step in treatment is a bone marrow transplant. Fortunately, his sister is a perfect match to be the bone marrow donor!
Frank is an amazing father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Frank is a hardworking, compassionate and gentle family man, who is always there in support of others, whatever they need. The road ahead of Frank is long and full of many challenges. Right now, Frank needs us. It’s our time to be there for him.
We don’t know what the future brings, but we do know this: we want to be sure that Frank and his family do not have the added burden of dealing stressors while Frank is out of work, and while his wife, Roxanne, is unable to work to be by his side throughout his fight. They need their only focus to be taking on this battle and winning it.
Even with health insurance, medical treatments and hospital stays can be financially burdensome, especially while Frank and Roxanne will be losing most of their income base. Anything you are able to contribute would be greatly appreciated. If we can alleviate any of Frank’s burdens during this terribly trying time, we want to do this for him.
