<div>Forster Woods Adult Day Center is a professionally supervised day program serving the elderly and other adults with physical or mental impairments. We provide a structured day program that includes meaningful social, cognitive, creative, and sensory activities in a warm, caring and secure environment. The program is individualized for each person based on the participants individual plan of care.

<div>On Tuesday, July 9th, Forster Woods facility was devastated by a flood caused by the storm. All rooms of our building were affected and our facility was not operational for Wednesday so we had to close. Throughout the day on Wednesday, the City of East Lansing sent in a team to extract the water, dry the building, and properly disinfect surfaces. When they returned in the evening to remove the equipment, it was discovered that additional flooding had occurred. The process was repeated by the City of East Lansing, however, it caused us to be closed for the rest of the week.

<div>With the Day Center being closed, we lost a significant amount of program income. Program income supports our day-to-day expenses including insurance, utilities, staff payroll, transportation, and meal costs. This loss will have a profound impact on our ability to continue to provide day services to our vulnerable population.
