My name is Stephanie Soares, I am from Toronto, ON and my family and I are good friends with Tricia and David Pedro. We met at Sick Kids Hospital while both of our daughters were in the CCCU having heart surgery.
Tricia and David Pedro welcomed their first born child Zoe to this world on February 21st, 2016. She was their pride and joy from the minute they laid eyes on her. Zoe was born with complex cardiac issues. She spent much of her life at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. Zoe had multiple surgeries and dealt with many complications along the way that would test the doctors and surgeons abilities and patience. Tricia and David were told not once, not twice, but no less than 7 times throughout her life that she would likely not make it; but Zoe defied all odds and fought like the Little Warrior she was. Her smile lit up any room and her character and personality stole the hearts of families, friends, hospital staff, and all who met her and shared her journey.
On Friday June 30th, 2017, Zoe passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at Sick Kids Hospital. The Sick Kids Staff tried everything they could to save Zoe's life, but sadly, it was too late. Her parents, family and friends were absolutely shocked and devastated. Just when everyone thought Zoe had beaten the odds, God had another plan for her and called her home.
We are starting this page to help not only with the cost of the funeral but to help alleviate some of the debt this family has accumulated after spending almost a year in hospital. Tricia and David never left Zoe's side through it all, which meant that they were unable to work. They never knew if and when Zoe's time on earth would end. They lived day to day and sometimes moment to moment, praying for their Zoe to pull through.
Please find it in your heart to help out this amazing and strong family so that they can focus on grieving their sweet daughter Zoe.
