Help for Thomas Wylie Moore

As many of you may know, my brother Jordan and his partner Jasmine recently had a child, Thomas. What many may not know is that Thomas was born with gastroschisis, a condition where his gastrointestinal organs are formed outside of his body. Baby Thomas was immediately brought to surgery after his birth. He is recovering and receiving his nutrition through an IV. And while he may still be in the hospital for next several months, his doctors and surgeon are hopeful.

While Thomas' immediate outlook is hopeful, the danger to him has not yet passed and the long term affects of this on him and his family are unclear. Our family is not well off, my brother and his family have Marketplace insurance which only helps so much, and being self-employed they have no way to make up for lost time during this emergency.

While their savings may be able to help with the medical bills, health care in America is often overwhelmingly expensive, and even the best insurance doesn't cover everyday expenditures like gas and food. 

Without your help, the day-to-day will continue to be a struggle, both financially and as a family. Every little bit helps, even if it's just to feed the new parents and make sure they can put gas in their car to get to the hospital and back.
