Help for the Kays Family

Peter and Beverley Kays were married for 49 1/2 years, in a blink of an eye their whole world changed. Beverley was sent to the hospital with COVID 19 virus related illness. Sadly, Beverley had fallen ill to the virus and passed away in the hospital. Shortly after her passing both of Pete and Bev’s daughters had gotten sick and were confirmed positive for COVID 19. Both were admitted to the care of the hospital and put on ventilators.
While this was taking place, Pete was unable to be by their sides for a couple reasons. Pete and his grandson were quarantined to his residence for 14 days to make sure they didn’t catch the virus and make sure if they had, that it ran its course. After the quarantine period was over Pete had unimaginable decisions to make for his family. Thankfully both of his daughters pulled through after a lengthy stay in the ICU unit at the hospital. They continue respiratory therapy with a long road of recovery ahead.
Pete Kays has dedicated his life to serving our community through his work at the Newton Department of Public Works, his love of safeguarding our children as a Newton Crossing Guard, and his service as a firefighter and Ex-Chief of the Newton Fire Department. Now it's time for our community to rally around the Kays family and support them in their time of need. Please consider making a contribution to help the Kays family manage this financial burden.
