Help for the Galindo Family

Several months ago, our sister, Kimberly Smith Galindo, and her four daughters- Hannah, 13; Karyn, 10; Natalie, 9; and Isabelle, 7- were left by their husband and father. He had been jumping in and out of their lives months at a time for years, giving them minimal amounts of parental, emotional and financial support, essentially leaving them to fend for themselves. Kim is a strong woman, and a great mother, and we are seeking to support her and her family as they aim to get back on their feet. Divorce is imminent, and Kim has received the legal advice to remain in Chicago for the time being. The girls especially love the area, where they have many friends and are thriving in school. But the father has left them homeless as of two months ago, staying with a friend because no other family live locally. Kim has spoken with every bureau, organization, and agency she can find, and while all are ready and willing to help, everything takes time. Many things take months. Any aid you can give today will go toward helping Kim and her family secure a more permanent home in their town, as well as helping retain the services of a great lawyer who assures her he can begin getting real support payments from her husband within 60 days. Any of you who know Kim, know she does everything for her children. She is working in several roles for the school district, but as a single mother she can only do so much. We hope to give her the peace of mind of knowing her girls are safe and secure, and can be properly provided for during this difficult time.
