WHAM! Cancer. Help for the Finleys

At some point in all of our lives, we face challenges that we just can’t manage alone. In those moments we hope that the people we love and our community at large will show up. That moment has come the Finleys. They are a remarkable family that has always shown up for others and they need our help.

Stef and Tiffany moved to Elgin almost 20 years ago with a dream to have a simpler, sweeter life and they made this dream come true. Stef brought home the bacon with his work at UPS (and the heritage pigs he raised). Tiffany built a company selling goat soaps and lotions. Together they raised two sons. Elder son Niko followed in Stef’s footsteps by joining the team at UPS, and also serves the community by refereeing local soccer matches. Younger son Deklan is the most responsible 18 year old you’ll ever meet: Competent, hard-working, and kind. 

And then.... wham! cancer.

Stef Finley’s came with little warning or symptoms, and in quick succession he had to start both radiation and chemotherapy to attack the tumor in his throat. He’s already dealt with an infected port (device implanted to administer cancer medications) and resulting hospital stay.

Stef will be on medical disability during his treatments, but cancer can be decimating in many ways, including financially. This generous, caring family needs all the support they can get.  They’re not the type to ask for much, but they will be the first to answer the call from others. So let’s show this family that their community - near and far - has their back. We can’t treat Stef’s cancer but we can help relieve the burden of the financial stress.
