The following is from my friends Sean and Jenny Elliott. They recently gave birth to Skyler. You can read their story below. There were many unexpected complications with their new daughter. Unfortunately, with complications also come unexpected expenses. Please consider assisting them as they transition to this next stage of their lives.

She was born Wed November 15th at 10:02am.
Let me tell you about this little warrior. At 20 weeks, we were informed our little girl had a rare brain malformation called Dandy Walker Malformation and that she had only one kidney. This malformation means that her body could not naturally drain her cerebral fluid in her head and that would essentially cause her head to grow ucontrollably and not allow her brain to develop normally. We knew heading into her birth that surgery would be required and that a brain shunt would need to be placed in order for her fluid to drain and allow her brain to develop as much as possible. Yesterday, through the steady hand of a wonderful neurosurgeon, that surgery was successfully performed! She is recovering nicely right now in the NICU and will be for at least another week.
Since Wednesday we have discovered that she has a few more issues we weren't necessarily expecting but none that she won't overcome. Upon examination, her nurses and doctors have said "she is fiesty and has attitude and we like that". Jenny and I like that too because that means she's a fighter and she's tough. She's going to need to be tough because she potentially some things on the horizon that she's going to have to fight through with the help of us, our family, her medical team and God.
