<div>Update: I started this fundraiser in August of 2023, right after the Maui Wildfires destroyed everything. I am still fundraising, including my annual lemonade stand fundraiser on the Maui Wildfires anniversary. I do this because some times it takes a very long time to rebuild and you have to keep going for a while. So that's what I'm doing. Thank you for considering helping out.

<div>This is my post when I first started the fundraiser that explains everything:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Julian Lin and I'm 8 years old. I am raising money for my friend Ryan, who lost his home on Maui in the wildfires and whose uncle died after he went back to his home to try to save it from the flames.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>1/3 of the proceeds will go to my friend Ryan.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>1/3 of the proceeds will go to Maui United Way. They help the whole Maui community recover. <a href="https://mauiunitedway.org" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://mauiunitedway.org" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://mauiunitedway.org</a></a>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>1/3 of the proceeds will go to the Maui Humane Society to help pets that fled the fires and need to return home or find new homes. <a href="https://www.mauihumanesociety.org" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://www.mauihumanesociety.org" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.mauihumanesociety.org</a></a>

</div>
<div>I met Ryan on vacation in February and we became friends. He let me help him light the torches at our hotel.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ryan taught me how to say ‘Aloha’ with passion. Aloha means hello in Hawaiian, but it also means Love. He said it's the most important word in the Hawaiian language.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ryan also lent me his fishing gear for free so I could go fishing in the Pacific Ocean.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>I hope you can all help me help Ryan, his community and the island he loves.
</div>
