Help for Michael Colvin

When Mike came to talk with me about the struggles he's currently facing, he told me that he had thought about starting a GoFundMe, but he had too much personal pride to do that. I, however, will not see a friend suffer if there is anything I can do about it.

Mike has had a ridiculously long string of bad luck. Last year, Mike began facing health problems that were unavoidable after his time in the Navy. A lengthy battle with the VA left Mike in a pretty rough place financially. However, he was able to figure out a solution and keep himself afloat. This was all while taking care of his sick grandmother full time, as well as taking on a full time class load in pursuit of a bachelors degree.

Recently, Mike tested positive for some form of autoimmune disorder and needs additional testing that his current insurance will not cover, in order to fully diagnose his condition. This has resulted in a crisis situation where, if Mike cannot afford to cover these medical bills, he will not be  able to afford rent, or to continue to go to school, as he is largely funding his own schooling.

Under any other circumstances, Mike would be out in the work force like the rest of us. However, Coupling his diagnosis with the current Covid-19 pandemic, as well as his school schedule and responsibilities to care for his Grandmother, he is unable to go work, and the situation has become desperate.

Any little bit helps, at this point. No donation is too small. I understand that we're all facing hard times right now. But I can't sit idly by while a friend of mine suffers. Please do whatever you are able to do, even if all you are able to do is spread the word.
