Help for Mandy Robbins Recovery

Donation protected
If you have ever met Mandy, you know she is  extremly loving,  genuine and incredibly humble. She is a very private person, and it is not in her nature to ask for help. Her beautiful smile lights up the room when she walks in.  Always the first to step up for anyone in need, Mandy is an LVN and she is a natural caretaker.   Her husband Jim is a Fire Captain for Cal Fire. They have both dedicated their lives to helping others within their community.   She is devoted to her husband Jim and their three children, not to mention her friends, co-workers and also the kids she coaches. She is a second mom to many of them.

In late July, many families in the Lakeport Community were evacuated due to the Mendocino Complex fire. The Robbins' were no exception, they were evacuated as well.  They were very fortunate to have a home to come back to. When they were allowed to move home, life was supposed to get back to normal.

While on her way to work on Thursday, the morning of September 6,  she was involved in a terrible head on collision.  Firefighter's had to extract her from her SUV. The engine compartment caved into the drivers seat which crushed her legs. She was Medi-flighted to one of the top trauma centers in Northern California.
Please see the newspaper article about the accident below:

On Friday, she had surgery on her right arm, wrist, ankle and left femur. She had many pins and rods put in for stability. Her left ankle and femur sustained quite a bit of damage and currently, the doctors have to wait for the swelling to go down before they can perform surgery to rebuild it. Even after surgery there will be many hurdles to overcome. She will have to remain in the hospital for several weeks for recovery and rehab.  She is not out of the woods. It is still unknown what the prognosis will be. Please pray that she is able to walk again.

During this trying time the Robbins family will need our help financially and spiritually.  She will not be able to work while recovering, and Jim has not left Mandy's side. She is the love of his life. They are an inspiring pair.

Right now Jimmy is staying at the hospital and has the tremendous support of his Cal Fire family.  It is fire season in California, and he has been on duty for many months. Fortunately Jim was on a RDO (regular day off) from Helitack  and was actually home the morning of the accident. He rushed to the scene to be with Mandy.  As a first responder, Jimmy puts his life on the line on a daily basis and is so courageous. They will need all of that courage  in order to prepare them for the long road ahead.

The Robbins family will need help with the expenses for recovery and rehabilitation, time off from work that both Mandy and Jim will have to take, as well as day to day life expenses.

The Robbins family dedicates their lives to helping others. It is now our turn to give back.

This is one of those life changing moments. Mandy and Jim are so strong, but we shouldn't let them go through this alone. Please help in any way you can.
