Help for Kyle Young's family.

Hello Friends and Family, thank you for clicking on our page. On the night of March 31, 2018 our sister and her four children were driving home from an early Easter celebration with family when a car pulled out in front of her. She T-boned the other car going 55 mph. All of the kids and her were transported to the hospital. Hailey the oldest has a broken collar bone. Trevor has a broken collar bone and torn ligaments in his neck and will be in a neck brace for 6 weeks, after that the doctors will assess any more damage. Calli has a leg injury and got an MRI this week but we are not yet aware of the severity. Our 8-year-old nephew Kyle has the most significant injuries and was flown to Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin, TX. He has broken ribs, a broken sternum, a cervical spine injury, a small bleed at the base of his brain, and very bruised lungs. He was placed on an ECMO life support machine to function as his lungs until they began to work on their own, and was moved to a ventilator on April 7th. He now has bacteria in his trach and is on antibiotics. Because of this he is not stable enough to have an MRI to assess the other damage. Day by day he is progressing in the healing process, but this will be a long road of healing for him and the whole family.
Calli and Carey have been taking turns staying over night at the hospital while Kyle is in the PICU. Calli has taken family medical leave from work for the time being. We would like to try and ease some of their burden with this account. Any donation will help and is greatly appreciated.
