Yesterday on October 14th, Kobe was diagnosed with Osteosaracoma, I bone cancer that is digging into his upper jaw. It hurts my heart see such an awful thing happen to such a kind and happy dog. If he is unable to get the removal treatment and chemotherapy he will need to be put down because he will no longer be able to open his mouth to eat, as well as the severe pain caused from the roots of the cancer digging into his jaw. As of right now, October 15th, he has between a few weeks to 2 months at most before he needs to be put down, so this request for funding is very urgent as we do not know how much time we have left. If we can reach our goal in this amount of time, we will be able to get him treated and have him get started on chemo sessions that should last about 10 months to 1 year. It will take a long time for them to fully recover, but it will be well worth the wait. Until then, we can only hope Kobe keeps fighting for as long as possible.
With this surgery, we can effectively increase his life from just a few weeks, to years. Right now Kobe is only 4 years and 7 months old, he has so much more in his life to live and be happy and bring happiness to others, helping him wont just affect him, our whole family is hoping for his recovery. Because he is so much more than just a dog, he's family, just as much as everyone else.
Kobe originally came to us when he was 4 months old when we went to an animal shelter. When my mom first picked him up we knew he was the one, every time she tried to put him back in his cage he kept digging himself into my mom's shoulder, not wanting to leave her. Ever since then he has been nothing but a big goofball who loves people more than anything else, he has an endless amount of love and affection for everyone around him. He has raised the spirits of my family significantly for these last 4 years, I just hope he will still be able to years from now if we can get him his surgery.
I know this goal is a lot to handle, but every bit helps. Please help donate so Kobe can get the removal surgery and chemotherapy he needs. I wish there was something I could give back to everyone that donates, all I can give is a full hearted thank you for everyone who donates any amount to this cause. I know I might ramble a bit on about this but I really can't say this enough, please help us keep this kind light in my families world. All I want is to see Kobe happy and well, thats all I could ever want. So if you do donate, no matter how much, THANK YOU.
