Uncle Nimal; a hard working, jovial and loving "Typical Sri Lankan Uncle". A kind father to his three children, Sasanka, Samodha and Kulangani and a loving husband to his wife Mrs Kanthi Gunasekera.
Uncle Nimal was visiting his son and daughter, Sasanka and Samodha in Perth, Australia for Samodha's graduation when he took an unfortunate turn and suffered a sudden heart attack at home on the 20th September 2017.
Samodha was at home at the time, and was able to call paramedics and Uncle Nimal was rushed to hospital, where he was taken to the Emergency Department and evetually placed on life support at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Although every effort was made to resuscitate Uncle Nimal, unfortunately the damaged sustained during the heart attack was irreversible, and uncle passed away in peaceful circumstances yesterday.
Death is never easy. It is felt the most by those who were closest to Uncle Nimal. It has made it even more difficult by the fact that he was away from his wife and youngest daughter who were both in Sri Lanka at the time.
As friends of the Gunesekara Family we would like appeal to the community to help the family in these difficult times in order to give them some respite.
The funds will be used for ICU and funeral expenses. Your kindness and generosity will be greatly appreciated!
