Help for Gary's Heart

Donation protected

My name is Jeff Farnham.

This effort is for my very good friend, Gary Homan.
Gary needs financial help.

(Eric Stone , Gary's close friend and financial consultant, will be assisting with finaces in connection with this effort and during any event that Gary might be incapacitated.)

If you knew Gary, you'd know that he would never ask for it himself. In his words, it would be "I'm just looking for a hand up, not a hand out."

His situation:
Long term heart conditions leave his heart functioning at about 20% capacity. He believes the source of the issues to be exposure to Agent Orange while serving over a year on the Korean border in '69 or '70 (a very hard thing to prove to VA standards).

In addition there are concerns with the state of his teeth. The photo above shows what was just found in his jawline, a remaining drill tip from a previous implant.
Gary lost some of his teeth in a jeep accident while serving in Germany.

THE CONCERN is that any leftover complication or infection from this dental work may get into his blood stream -- it would wreak havoc to his heart.

The VA will not cover the expenses. Gary has made many trips to his nearest facility, from Post Falls ID to Seattle, to no avail. He has pleaded to his local Senators and played every game, jumped through all the hoops - with the return message being "...the burden is on you." That story is too long to tell here.

Gary's wife, Noel, has been fighting her own battles with cancer. I hope the chemo and radiation will soon complete, and I hope to hear her recovery is near. She is such a beautiful and wonderful person -- it is difficult to imagine her in pain, so I do not.

Their battle with money is not a surprise given their history with expenses. They lived in Newbury Park, CA for about 20 years, then relocated to upper Idaho to make retirement dollars stretch. The Homans lost their Idaho house of 17 years as medical expenses went up and Medicare and Social Security ran thin.

What is needed:
Ultimately, it would be amazing if Gary could get a new heart. It is sorely needed, but donor lists and dollars needed make this a difficult goal to reach.

What Gary really needs now is dental surgery and as soon as possible. Your donation can help make that happen.

Gary and Noel Homan deserve a better life.
If this thing turns into only a little money raised, that means more for gas money and maybe even a little more for a few decent meals each week -- I know they would consider even that a miracle.

Let's help if We can.
All money raised goes directly to Gary ( minus the FundMe % )
I understand that this is NOT tax deductible, I feel
obligated to point that out.
