Hi, my name is David Huaytalla, director of the Adventist Spanish Group in New Market and we have had the great pleasure of meeting Elsy. She is a sweet and very faithful girl.

Elsy Kersey became ill in March of 2020. She was diagnosed with viral encephalitis, which is inflammation of the brain. It was later determined during her month long stay at the hospital that the cause was the yellow fever vaccine that she received in preparation for a mission trip with her school. In March of 2021, as a result of the original brain injury, Elsy was diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis and multiple sclerosis (MS). She has been in the hospital numerous times over the last two years as her brain continues to heal. She has suffered and continues to deal with several physical and psychiatric problems due to the brain injury. Every day presents challenges for her but her faith in God, positive attitude, and great family and friends have been her motivation to continue the road to recovery.

Recently, Elsy had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Neil Nedley who is the president of the Weimar Institute and Nedley Health in California. Both Elsy and Dr. Nedley agreed that his mental health program would go a long way to help her recover. Your donation will be used to help her go to this one of a kind program. The program is scheduled for June 23-July 4, 2022.
