Ok this is gonna be hard for me. I've been praying about this all day long and I'm hoping I'm doing what God wants me to do here.
First off, for those of you that don't know, I'm disabled and not able to work at all. I was a Police Officer before and not making a lot of money but was getting by. Now the only thing I get is my disability check monthly through Social Security, which is about 40% of what I was last making. Which yes does put me below the poverty level for Georgia. So to say the least I live a no frills life now. No TV or internet other than my phone. No eating out very often and relying on local food banks for a large part of our food. I've swallowed my pride and am doing what I have to. That's ok as long as I can keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. That's not always easy but I do have faith in the Lord and know that he will provide for me. He always has. I thank the good Lord every day for the many blessing I have. This has been very humbling but that ok. We are suppose to be humble. I know there are those in worse shape than me and I still give and try to help when I can. It doesn't seem like enough but I do what I can.

Well today I received a letter from Social Security. The letter basically said they are withholding my August check and $200 from my September check, due to over payment. My check has been the same since the beginning so I thought it was just a clerical error. I called them today and after about an hour on the phone I was told this was an over payment to my daughter when she was still a juvenile. She received a small monthly check until she turned 18. I have no clue how I'm going to dispute this because her checks were not direct deposited or deposited at all only cashed. This is from over two years ago! I am going to appeal this but have no idea of what the out come will be. I only have their records to go by. The lady did tell me today that even if I win the appeal it could take a couple months to receive my check. I went through that once before when they lost one of my checks. It messed me up bad and has taken over a year to somewhat recover from that. Not having an entire months income gets you behind on everything. I pawned and sold most of everything I had of any value just to try and keep my head above water and now I find out I'm facing this again. I'm a month behind on my power bill now but had made arrangements to get it caught up this month. I got behind on it so I'd have enough money for my injections last month. My car insurance is due. My car tag is expired. My phone will be cut off too. I currently have two of my pain meds I'm out of that I don't have the money to get filled. Not to mention I'll be out of everything before the month is out and won't have any money to have them filled or even go to the doctor. Y'all don't know what this is doing to me right now. I've always said, I don't need it if I can't get it on my own. Yes I'm a long haired country boy! Now I've got a family to take care of and animals to feed and I don't know where to turn. I had several friends tell me when I got in that tight before I should have told my friends what was happening... Well I'm telling my friends. I need help. I feel so bad for asking but it's just more than I can handle and not just me that is effected by this. I would do anything to take care of my family. Folks if nothing else I truly believe in the power of prayer. If y'all could pray for me I would greatly appreciate it. Y'all just don't know how hard it is for me to post this...
Love y'all!
