Help For Dan Shipley’s Family

Hi everyone, my name is Gabrielle and my mom is Tricia. As I’m sure a lot of you know now that Dan Shipley passed away on Sunday 6/27. I would like to be able to raise money to help his brother Rob and rest of the family to take care of his passing. The details of fund distribution would be things like his cremation or burial, helping with moving expenses and possibly to help fix the site. Anything would be appreciated and even just sharing this page would help greatly.

I met Dan three years ago when I moved to Denver and he quickly became a close friend of mine. We worked at the same restaurant, always picking on each other and would often talk of life afterwards, cheering with cheep beers.

He was an incredibly vibrant and loving person who wanted to do and be so much in life. I think this spark he had, plus the mustache, is what caught my moms eye. I took her and a friend to our work for dinner and Dan just couldn’t stay away. They clicked immediately and though their time together was short, it was full of love. I got all the gooey details from them about each other. How she just loved that he would tag along on any crazy adventures she came up with and he would just talk of the awe he was in. He was happy with her, even on his dark days I could see that she brought him comfort, settled his heart and mind.

I wish his story was still being written but sometimes no matter how hard a person tries or how hard the people around them try, things just get too dark. Mental illness isn’t easy and I know how hard he was trying to get himself out of his head and be happier than he could have imagined.

Dan Shipley will be missed, he will forever live on in our hearts and anyone who met him knows of his zest for life and love of his friends. I’m so thankful to have known him and to see him and my mom share being in love.
