Last resort. I wouldn't ask if I wasn't desperate.

Friends, I appreciate you taking some time to read this and consider what I'm asking for. I absolutely promise to pay it forward once I get back on my feet. Thank you.

Let me back up a bit. It's not been a good six months or so. Eric and I split up a few months ago after over 20 yrs together. Surprisingly I did okay through that. I usually don't mind being alone. Having Kasey, and now Scout, helps me through. In June I started a new job that I was extremely excited about. It was at a veterinary hospital that is less than 1 mile from my home. I was hired because the current receptionist was soon going on maternity leave. I was promised full-time with benefits, even after she returned from leave. All started well but eventually it became clear that what I was promised wasn't going to happen.  I wasn't offered benefits and since the other receptionist has returned from leave my hours were cut, from 36 hrs/week to 14-20hrs/week. The boss/vet is notorious for being difficult to work for and she didn't feel that I was catching on quickly enough. When compared to someone else who's worked there for 8 yrs of course I'm going to be not as efficient! To make a long story a bit shorter, I was let go at the end of the year. Of course in the midst of all this I had to make the decision to euthanize Kasey which completely shattered my heart. I miss my girl so much! Thank God for my boy, Scout.
It was doing ok financially until my hours were cut. When that happened I started looking for another job but so far nothing has come through. It could be another month for unemployment benefits to kick in and I'm sure yet if I even qualify. So, here I am with less than $25 in the bank, overdue bills, no health insurance and meds to buy, a pupper-dog to feed and care for, and a car with a "check engine" light that came on today.
I promise, I would not be doing this unless I absolutely needed to. It makes me sick to my stomach to have to ask for help. I'm just needing to get through until I can find a job, anything at this point, or until unemployment benefits might start.
Any amount you can contribute will be greatly appreciated and will simply help me from going completely under until I can get back on track. As I mentioned, i will absolutely pay it forward once i get back on my feet. I will not take help of any kind for granted. Prayers, ++ thoughts, and good vibes are free and I'll appreciate those just as much!
I appreciate you all for listening. Thank you for being a friend and being there for me, through the good times and the not-so-good times.
