Dear friends of Ben Cottrell (a.k.a, Coach Cotty)
As some of you may know, he has recently been diagnosed with cancer and is expected to be facing a long and difficult journey to recovery. We understand he will begin his cancer treatments very soon and should last over the next several months. As you can imagine, the medical expenses will be overwhelming and with the everyday necessities of life, money is getting tighter and tighter. Given all the support he has offered our sons over the years, we would love to return the favor.
We have had the pleasure of knowing him during both our son’s time at Saint Xavier High School. He is truly an extraordinary person. Ben is a dedicated father, friend, educator, mentor, and coach who always strives to enhance the lives of the people around him. He is a selfless and caring person who puts his family, friends and students before himself.
He is always willing to give his extra time to help his students grow and learn in their journey to become young men. Whether it is his early morning math tutoring sessions or his after-hours baseball instruction, he approaches life with great care, kindness and enthusiasm for the betterment of his students.
Many of us know Coach Cotty as one of the outstanding coaches of the Saint Xavier baseball program. He coaches with a lot of passion for the game and his winning attitude has directly influenced so many of his players over the years. Baseball is truly a challenging game, and his personal coaching style helps his players become young men with strong character.
Now, it’s our chance to return some of that kindness and support to Ben and his family. Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help his family during this challenging time is what is most important so he can focus on beating this thing.
