Help for Baby Levi and his family

Baby Levi Shane Vernon was born the 25th July 2017 to parents Sarah Ride & Thomas Vernon via emergency c-section. The last 9 weeks of baby Levi's life have been far from a new parents dream...

On the 7th August,,every parents worst night mare occurred. Sarah revived her newborn son using CPR, after finding him unresponsive and not breathing. Levi was than admitted to Melbourne Children's Hospital for 4 weeks for further investigation into his condition. Again on the 15th, Sarah revived her precious lifeless child.

A preliminary diagnoses of GLUT1 deficiency; a rare genetic metabolic disorder which is characterised by a protein that is essential for Glucose to cross the Blood Brain Barrier. The most common presenting symptom is seizures, sometimes up to 10 per day . Due to testing that took 6 weeks to return has come back inconclusive leaving the young family again at Melbourne Children's hospital for further investigation.

On the 26th September Levi suffered his longest seizure lasting 15 minutes plus.

The diagnosis still uncertain, means the young family again have left there family home in swan hill 335kms from Melbourne to be at MCH. This putting an immense financial strain on the family.
