I am asking your help to raise money for an amazing person. Emily is an incredible friend and colleague. As a hospice nurse Emily has been an advocate for patients and their families. She is the one who is always there for everyone else - her friends, family and employees (me included).
She is that humble person who never wants the credit for all the kindness and support she has provided to so many of us over the years - now she needs our help. Recently the Hospice Agency that Emily ran for nearly 10 years closed. Feeling the call to help on the frontlines in the fight of COVID she spent some time working in hospitals before recently returning to her first love and accepting a position back in Hospice. While waiting for her insurance to start she became ill. She thought she was fighting a sinus infection but ended up in the hospital with sepsis (a life threatening complication from infection) and needing emergency surgery. She had the surgery and received treatment for the sepsis. She is still receiving follow up care but and I am beyond grateful that she is feeling better! This experience left her with a hospital bill of approximately $100,000. My hope is to raise enough money to help to offset this overwhelming bill. Emily is the most giving person I know. She is someone that will always pay it forward. She is very private so this is difficult for her - she is the one who provides the assistance not the one who asks so I am asking for her. What she has gone through could happen to any one of us and if it did she is the person we would want on our side. Please help me help a great person through this difficult time.
