Peggy Mickelson

In Spring 2013, a friend of many in the world of dogs, Peggy Mickelson, was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer. Peggy subsequently developed other health issues that have kept her confined to her home. The good news is that chemotherapy for the cancer has so far been successful; however she has overwhelming unpaid medical expenses and now developed another health issue which will be costly but necessary for her overall well-being. Compounding her personal situation is the fact that she is unable to drive and her geographic area does not have free or low-cost medical transportation services. Can you afford to pay $60/hour for medical transportation to and from your doctor's office or a hospital while the driver waits? Transportation for one day can total hundreds of dollars; multiply that amount by several such trips each month. The actual treatment of illness and getting to and from the services can literally bankrupt a person. Can we stand by and let that happen?
Peggy would never ask for money for herself, so I am asking for her. She grows more and more concerned about her future and as everyone who has ever experienced illness in their family knows stress feeds the illness. So this is your chance fellow members of the dog show world to show your appreciation to a fellow breeder/exhibitor.
Please give generously if you can and also know that no amount is too small. All contributions are graciously appreciated. I do believe that what we give will come back to us multiplied. Thank you.
