Help Flo Barrett get back sewing!

Hey friends,
So as you may have heard, it hasn't been the best week... My car was broken into twice, and they took keys from my car to get into my apartment. (read more about my week by clicking here )
During all of this, a good chunk of my sewing supplies, all my fancy fabric scissors, my digital sewing machine, and thousands and thousands of dollars worth of other items were stolen. The cops have estimated it at about 12K- $15K worth of stuff, not to mention the sentimental value. I also discovered that my tenant insurance had lapsed while I was away, so none of this is covered.
It could have been much much worse, me and my bunny rabbits are safe, which to me, is the most important thing. And I totally get this is my fault for leaving stuff and keys in my car in the first place. And 100%, there are so many other people in the world right now that are going through much more devasting times...
But losing my sewing supplies hurts. These are the tools I use to do my job.
Being a freelance costume designer, I never have a steady empolyer. So when a few bad things happen all in a row, it can really take a toll. In the fall/ winter of last year I was crazy sick, was in and out of the hospital for months. Because of this I was unable to work, combine that with medical and dental bills, my savings have taken a hit.
I was just starting to get back to work, and bam, this happens...
Basically all this means replacing these items out of pocket isn't an option for me right now...
I wrote in a facebook post about how if you look hard enough, if you dig deep enough, you can always find light in the middle of the darkness. I believe this whole heartedly to be true...
So, in a few weeks I’m am going to be hosting a “flo’s flea” in Vancouver, BC. I am going to be selling off a large selction of clothes from my film kit along with some badass pieces from my personal collection in efforts to replace my sewing machine and notions.
This is basically a stash of clothing gold (ya’ll know i gots great taste) with a full range of sizes from kids to adults, men and women, lots of designer stuff, stuff for any season you could imagine, mainly contemporary but with a few vintage pieces in there too… Basically if you ever wanted me to be a personal shopper for ya, now’s your chance!
For those of you that aren't in vancouver right now, I set this up, incase you wanted to pitch in a few dollars.
I know there are many, many, more important things in the world right now that deserve our attention and compassion, so I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has offered up support.
It really means the world to me that you are helping me get back on my feet and get me back to the work I love to do so much.
I will post details of the sale as soon as everything in confirmed, but until then, keep being fabulous, don't leave stuff in your car, and always, always try to find the bright-side
