<div>Hey! So in case you haven't heard, on January 1st my car got wrecked while parked in a hit-and-run accident. I initially thought (hoped) the damage was cosmetic, but recently found out that the estimates to fix it will average around $6000 :( This is especially bad timing because my current job requires extensive commuting. Worse, since I only have liability insurance and the driver was unidentified, I will have to pay <strong><em>all</em></strong> damages out-of-pocket.

<div>Now, tbc, I'm not really expecting much, if anything. Not only is everyone going through it financially, but this is also right after the holidays, so I'm aware people are even <em>more</em> strapped than usual. So no worries if you can't contribute.
