Help Fix Fizzy

On Wednesday, August 30, I noticed that Fizzy's skin on her neck was bruised. When my mom got home from work she also found a lump on Fizzy's neck. Mom took her to work the next day and her vet tech students did some blood tests. Fizzy had zero platelets (blood cells that help start blood clotting). My mom took her to Austin Veterinary and Emergency Specialty hospital (AVES) in Austin. They confirmed that Fizzy had no platelets. They also found a 4 cm mass on her spleen. Because she still looked like she felt pretty good, they sent us home with medication and instructions to watch her red blood cell count everyday. In the middle of the night, Fizzy got weaker until she was collapsing at home. Mom rushed her back to AVES Friday morning. Her red blood cells and blood pressure had dropped drastically, and she was in big trouble. 
Now Fizzy is in ICU at AVES. She has had two blood transfusions and has improved, but she must stay in the hospital until she is stronger. If she improves, she will need to have surgery to remove her spleen. Unfortunately, all of this costs lots of money. My mom and dad are doing everything they can to save Fizzy, but this much extra money is not just sitting around. This is true for most everyone, I'm sure. Any money donated will be used to pay for Fizzy's treatment at AVES and any after care that she needs. Any additional money raised will be donated to help local animal shelters that are overrun with need right now from Harvey evacuees. 
Fizzy is the greatest dog I have ever met. She is my heart dog. When we got this dog 7 years ago, I would have never guessed how much she would mean to me now. She is the most loveable dog I've ever met. Also not to mention the hair... To know her is to love her! She is the most endearing and precious dog ever!! I would be FOREVER greatful to anyone who could help us and our endeavor to save our sweet Fizz.
