As salaam alaikum warahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu!
We are spreading this Sadaqah Jaariayah opportunity. Contribute to giving a masjid as a gift to a community in need!
Masjid Nurul Islam in Freetown, Sierra Leone has come a long way serving the people of communities in the immediate area and in many parts of the country. Over 300 students from all ages are taught at this masjid. Qur'aan memorization, Tawheed and Aqueedah classes, Arabic, Hadeeth, and Fiqh. A lot of the students come from the villages to seek knowledge here and then go back to their respective villages to teach others.
We had started helping them work on some renovations that were direly needed. The wudhu/bathroom area was tight and very outdated, the floors on the ground floor are not conducive to sit on for classes because it is unlevelled, there is construction going on to finish the last floor in time for the tropical raining season or they will have serious issues with flooding in the masjid. The following is the list of the remainder of the work that MUST be finished before the rains:
-Roofing and drainage system- $3,800
-All Ceiling expenses- $2,750
-Tiling- $5,500
-Windows- $1,800
-All Painting- $3,000
-Sister's Restroom- $2,000
-Wudhu area and general restroom- $2,000
-Rugs downstairs-$2,500
-Electrical and Fans- $1,250
-Fitting and accessories- $2,200
-Contingency- $1,000
Shamsuddeen Muhammad bin Abee Bakr Ibn Qayyim aj-Jawzeeyah (d.751 A.H.) -Rahimullaah- said: ‘Indeed Sadaqah has an amazing effect in repelling different types of trials and tribulations, even if the charity was given by an evil person...This is a matter which is well-known to the scholar...’ [Taken from: ‘al-Wabil as-Sayyib’ p.63]
Allaah says, "And whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allaah’s Cause), He will replace it.” (34:39)
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: A continuous charity, knowledge by which people derive benefit, pious son who prays for him.” [Muslim].
