Long form:

Patrick and Lucy need your help. Patrick and his golden retriever Lucy have been living in an unsafe situation for a while and recently he was forced to leave his residence that he shared with other people. He has had a temporary housing situation which is going to end next week.

Patrick has suffered from seizures as well as other medical conditions and he has been unable to work. This directly led to his current living situation. He is trying to get federal and state assistance, but it takes time, and unfortunately, Patrick is facing an immediate housing crisis. The idea of being homeless, going to a homeless shelter, or couch surfing are all unacceptable because it means he would have to give up Lucy.

HOW DO I KNOW PATRICK?

I met Patrick in the fall of 2018, through a mutual interest in board game design. I have come to know Patrick as a kind and generous person who is always there for other people and will go out of his way to help others. His greatest passion is board game design and is always helping those in the design community by providing insight and feedback and guidance. His compassion for others is evident in how he lives his life. One time he gave his bus money to a homeless man and walked home and had no regrets about doing it.

WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE THRU THIS GO FUND ME…

The money raised in this campaign will go directly towards Patrick’s housing expenses for the next month or two. It is our hope to get Patrick into an extended stay hotel that will have a kitchen and be pet-friendly so he does not have to be separated from Lucy. This will give time for him to hopefully receive benefits that will provide for his housing directly. It will also provide for his food expenses and transportation to doctors and to other related appointments. We are working on other options should the state aid not come through where he will share an apartment with someone. There is a housing crunch in general right now and one doesn’t find an apartment in a day. This is why he needs temporary housing until these plans can come to fruition. Patrick is always there for his friends and those around him, and even perfect strangers. We ask you to give whatever you can to help through the next several weeks or months until he can get the long-term aid and support he needs.
