Help fight pimps in the UK

Help Bring a New Zealand Prostitution Survivor to the UK to fight back against the push to decriminalise UK pimps.

UK feminists may have met or heard of Sabrinna Valisce, a strong feminist and abolitionist who currently lives in Australia. Sabrinna is a sex trade survivor who spent over two decades in prostitution in New Zealand. She speaks very convincingly against the New Zealand model of decriminalisation, which is the legal framework being pushed by the pro-prostitution lobby globally and unfortunately is gaining in popularity and influence.

There are new threats here in the UK with an increasing push from pro-prostitution lobbyists who have persuaded influential organisations such as Amnesty International and more recently the British Medical Association Young Doctors that the New Zealand model is the way forward.

Sabrinna knows better, having campaigned for full decriminalisation in New Zealand herself, and then being bitterly disappointed to see the enormously negative impact on womens lives that resulted from the full decriminalisation of pimps. It would be a disaster for prostituted women in the UK if decriminalisation were to be pushed through here, and Sabrinna can speak to that disaster with the authority of personal experience.

We are working to try to bring Sabrinna over to the UK to speak to politicians, deliver public presentations and undertake other important movement work for the Nordic model in the UK. We really need a strong New Zealand survivor who knows the issue inside out and having worked with Sabrinna for the past year, we are confident that she will do a great job of winning hearts and minds over in the UK at such a crucial time in the campaign.

One woman has already kindly agreed to house Sabrinna while she’s in the UK, so the accommodation is sorted out, but in order to be able to bring her over we also need to raise funds for her return flight (we have already funded her flight over) and, since she cannot legally work while here, we also need to provide a couple of months reasonable living expenses and travel costs around London and the UK. We have estimated the total cost to be 3,500 euros, which is 3,000 British pounds. Sabrinna is coming here to help us and all of her time and effort will be unpaid and voluntary.

Please consider donating to this cause. It is an enormously important effort. If one hundred women donated €35 quid each we could have this wrapped up really quickly, but if you can only afford to donate €5.00 or some other very modest amount, please don’t let that put you off. Every penny will count towards this very practical and enormously important effort. If we can fund Sabrinna's return flight and take care of her living and travel costs while here, it will be a crucial support for the abolitionist movement in the UK and the best fiver any feminist ever spent!

Please share this Go Fund Me in every online feminist forum. Thank you for your support.
