Hi l'm Fern! I'm a trans woman trapped in the Middle Tennessee area along with my spouse and two kittens. We've been struggling to afford some of the things that would help my transition at this crucial stage, namely my legal name change, electrolysis hair removal procedures, and the frequent blood tests that are not covered by our current insurance. With the worrying political climate and the increasing threat of violence towards trans women, simple things like a name change can vastly contribute to my day to day safety. Any additional funding would be placed in an account for these reoccurring procedures, and if there is enough support it may become the start of a surgery fund or be used to move my spouse and I to a safer area with more protections for trans people.
