Help Felipe to pay for his medical bills

Hoe je leven van het ene op het andere moment kan veranderen. Op verzoek van Alan Vila die zijn beste vriend Felipe wil helpen met het betalen van rekeningen van het ziekenhuis in Mexico, heb ik deze fund actie opgezet (Vanuit Mexico kun je GoFundMe niet gebruiken).

Ik heb Felipe kortgelen nog ontmoet in Mexico toen er nog helemaal niets aan de hand was. Een superaardige gast die werkte met met gehandicapte kinderen...
Felipe kon van het ene op het andere moment bijna niet meer lopen en de neuroloog probeert er nu achter te komen wat hiervan de oorzaak is. Dat betekent vele MRI scans etc. In Mexico hebben de meeste mensen geen ziektekosten verzekering omdat dat gewoon te duur is. Als je dan plotseling iets overkomt moet je eerst je gespaarde geld opmaken en hopen dat je via familie en vrienden alle onverwachte medische rekeningen kunt betalen. Ik hoop samen met de hulp van mijn vrienden en kennissen Felipe te kunnen helpen. Hieronder het verhaal van Alan en zijn beste vriend Felipe en alvast heel erg bedankt voor je eventuele bijdrage! Friends are the family you choose.

 

That's what people say a lot and that's what I say too.

 

My name is Alan Vila and I have also chosen my friends, who are now part of my family.

I met Felipe when we studied in middle school, we were about 14 years old, we also studied high school together and then we had were separated because we both started at university, he wanted to be a doctor, but in the end he turned out to be a special education teacher. Despite separating from university, we kept in touch a lot because we only live 10 minutes from each other, practically in the same neighbourhood.

 

We have been friends for more than 15 years, and in those many years I have never seen my friend go through a situation like what is happening now, and it breaks my heart to see him like this.

 

Just over two months ago the pandemic greatly affected Felipe's health, stress and anxiety have made him practically unable to walk. I have decided to create this "go found me" to help him with the costs for medical examinations that have been done, so far there are more than 30 examinations, more than 20 medical appointments and now rehabilitation begins to be able to recover motor skills in his legs.

 

Therapies will continue and medical examinations will also until he can get that good health back. He does not give up, he wants to get out of this terrible situation, and for now his family, his partner and I want to do everything in our hands to improve Felipe's health.

Los amigos son la familia que tú eliges.

 

Eso dicen mucho las personas y eso digo yo también.

 

Mi nombre es Alan Vila y yo también he elegido a mis amigos, que ahora son parte de mi familia.

Conocí a Felipe cuando estudiábamos en la secundaria, teníamos más o menos 14 años, también estudiamos la preparatoria juntos y después nos tuvimos que separar para empezar la universidad, él quería ser médico, pero al final resultó ser un profesor de educación especial. A pesar de separarnos por la universidad, seguimos en contacto mucho porque solo vivimos a 10 minutos, prácticamente en el mismo vecindario.

 

Hemos sido amigos por mas de 15 años, y en esos tantos años jamás había visto a mi amigo pasar por una situación como la de ahora, y me rompe el corazón verlo así.

Hace poco más de dos meses la pandémica afectó mucho el estado de Felipe, el estrés y la ansiedad han hecho que ahora prácticamente no pueda caminar. He decidido crear este “go found me” para ayudarlo con gastos de estudios médicos que se ha hecho, hasta ahora son más de 30 estudios, más de 20 citas médicas y ahora empieza rehabilitación para poder recuperar la motricidad en sus piernas.

Las terapias seguirán y los estudios médicos también hasta que pueda volver a recuperar la salud. Él no se rinde, él quiere salir de esta terrible situación, y por ahora su familia, su pareja y yo hacemos todo lo que está a nuestro alcance para poder mejorar la salud de Felipe.

Los amigos no se abandonan, más cuando ya son parte de tu familia.
