<div>Felicia is an amazing mother, and gifted educator. At Garden City Elementary, she is one of the most loved and appreciated Educational Support Professionals by both students and staff. She is also an author and has published multiple children's books, which includes "Dear Black Girl, You Can". Because of Felicia's multiple accomplishments, she also received the Investment in Youth award from the District 279 Foundation.

<div>Felicia was going back to college to get her elementary teaching degree and was on track to graduate in the spring of 2025. Unfortunately, this past September Felicia needed emergency brain surgery. This surgery resulted in three additional surgeries where she experienced excruciating pain and complications.

<div>She has been in and out of the hospital and the ICU for months. This has not only been tragic for Felicia, but also heartbreaking for her young children. Felicia has been battling for her life and is slowly starting to recover. Through all of this, she hasn't had any income because of her extended leave from work and the multiple complications from the surgeries.
