Hello everyone! I am Feliander Jesús Barrera. I am 20 years old and currently, I am on my 8th trimester of my B.A. in Architecture in one of the best universities in Latin America: the Simón Bolívar University (USB) located in Caracas, Venezuela.

I love the career path I’ve chosen because I truly enjoy creating spaces where people can live. I enjoy designing highly functional spaces where people can work, be happy and share with their loved ones and friends. Also, architecture is the art of designing functional spaces and cities where people feel comfortable, proactive and welcome. Architecture makes concessions to the fact that people are diverse with different lifestyles and multiple ways of seeing the world.

Studying architecture requires many materials to make blueprints and models of buildings and much more. In the beginning of my studies, I could afford to buy the materials I needed. But I no longer can because of the economic/political crisis that has taken over my country.

As maybe all of you know, Venezuela is experiencing one of the worst times in its history, there is food shortage, long lines to buy food when available and security in the streets is virtually non-existent. I've seen a lot talent people leave the university, students and teachers with many dreams and goals because of the crisis. To be honest, the last days have been quite complicated, the Government of Nicolás Madura is killing people and destroying the universities. The Simon Bolivar University (my university) is walking trough the hardest time in its history: electricity and water problems, bad salaries for teachers and now we don't have transport.

Beside that, the university is engagemended to continue working because education is an important pillar to re-build Venezuela.  I think the same and I have been studying so hard to accomplish my dream of becoming an Architect. I have one of the Best Grades among my classmates (4,1808 out of 5 points). Thanks to my performance, I got a scolarship of the Venezuelan-American Association of Friendship (AVAA, in spanish) who works in Caracas. I really want to keep making my best effort to study because I really love my career. I really want to be an Architect.

For all of those reasons, my cousin Maria Isabela Carrillo and me created this campaign asking for help.
The money collected through this campaign will be transfered from the Netherlands to Venezuela through PayPal or other available Currency Exchange services to buy architectural materials (several types of paperboard and paper, silicone and glue, cutting blades, a cutting mat), blueprints, many other materials and to buy food. Not for college tuition because the Simon Bolivar University is public and free. If you help, I will be closer to accomplish this big dream of becoming an Architect. Together we can make a great change in the life of one person in need. Please, I will be more than happy if you donate and repost.

Thank you so much for reading the above,

God bless you.
