Maasai Feeding Program Initiative

Hello,
I hope you are all well and safe during this global pandemic. These are really tough times and it’s my wish that we will all make it out alive and well.
My name is Shinka and I am a member of the Maasai Mara tribe in Kenya. My people rely on tourism to support and feed the community. We host travelers from around the world in our village so we can show them our way of life and show the beauty of our land and animals.
COVID-19 has completely shut down tourism and our main livelihood. We have no idea when we will be able to work again.
Due to the full shutdown on tourism, we were forced to close our camp which has left the community without a source of income. This has led to many families struggling with hunger as they are unable to buy the food needed to survive.
I am asking for donations for the Maasai Feeding Program that I’ve set up to help feed our community. So far, I have been able to feed over 20 villages of about 400 people since March.
The contributions have been a blessing to the community and I am so happy that I am able to play a major role in helping my people. To keep this initiative going, we are still welcoming any kind of support as any amount donated goes a long way in keeping the feeding program alive.
100% of all money raised goes toward buying maize meal which is then given to the surrounding villages. We can buy a week's worth of maize meal to feed 100 people for just $130 USD. A donation of just $20 can help feed approximately 15 people for an entire week. Our goal is to continue distributing food to more and more people in the community until we can safely host travelers again.
