Help feed food-insecure kids and their families

 

Free lunch and a day at Ann Morrison Park

 

Protect Idaho Kids Foundation (PIK) Is providing FREE lunches and a day at Ann Morrison Park during the summer months to offer food-insecure children and their families an escape from the Covid-19 pandemic. Adults accompanying children will be served lunches as well. The program will run for eight weeks, each Sunday from 12 noon to 1:30 pm, June 12 to July 31, 2022.

• LUNCHES ARE FREE - All guests attending the PIKnics will be given a pre-packaged lunch consisting of a sandwich, fruit, chips, cookie, and milk or soft drink. Lunches can be taken home or eaten at the park.

• Prize Drawing - Besides a free lunch for the whole family and a day at the park, we will hold a drawing each week for prizes. The grand prize will be a boy’s and girl’s bicycle. Everyone attending the PIKnic(s) will get a ticket for a chance to win prizes. Drawings will take place at 1:30 pm. Guests must be present to win.

• Provide income - We will hire current and alumni staff from Life’s Kitchen to help prepare the food for the lunches, thereby providing these young adults some income as they struggle to become self-sufficient. The PIKnics do double duty: feed children, and provide income to young adults.

• PB&J Food Drive- In addition to the lunches and drawings, there will be a food pantry for guests to take food home for later in the week.  You can donate food at locations listed on our website.

Directions: Enter on the West side of Ann Morrison Park off Americana Blvd. Head east towards the fountain. Our tables will be set up just off the roadway on the south side of Ann Morrison Fountain. See you there.
