Help The New Old Time Chautauqua raise money to offset food costs for the 2019 New Old Time Chautauqua "Be Mary" Alaska Tour!
From the organizers:
Our troupe, aged 3 to 78, includes performers, educators, and community organizers from nine U.S. states as well as Canada. All of us are volunteers. Our kitchen budgeted $7 per person per day for three meals each day. However, our touring community for the summer grew last minute from 50 to 60 people. By including additional tour members, our food costs increased by $2,590. We couldn't turn away the magic that these 10 people will bring to this tour! So we hope this GoFundMe can help feed our additional family members. Your donation of any size will fill the hard working bellies of our volunteers.
As you know, money is not the most valuable thing in life! Direct contributions of food is also incredibly appreciated - and feeds our hearts and our bellies. If you are looking to clear out your freezer of year-old salmon or game meat, please think of us! If you'd like to come bring us dinner, we would love to enjoy a meal with you! About Old New Time Chautauqua
The New Old Time Chautauqua is an all-volunteer traveling intentional community of performers, educators, and community organizers. In Alaska, we will be honoring and celebrating the memory and legacy of Mary Langham through circus performances, free workshops, parades, community service projects, and shows for folks who otherwise don't have access to quality, live entertainment, including three prisons and three nursing homes, a center for homeless youth, a non-profit children's circus education organization, and more!
This summer, the Tour will start with a benefit show in Bellingham June 6, followed by a drive up the Alcan, with the caravan arriving in Talkeetna on June 12. We will tour through Anchorage and Seward, ending in Homer on July 6, at which point the caravan will head back to Washington.
