Help Fay beat FIP

Donation protected
Fayette had a rough start on life. When she was a newborn, she was rescued and sent to a shelter, she went to a foster home where she and her siblings had to be bottle-fed to stay alive. But she was a strong kitten. Of her four siblings, Fay was one of two that survived.

A few months later, I adopted her, and shortly after that, she was diagnosed with a mild case of Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which means that her cerebellum is underdeveloped. Luckily, her case is mild and it’s relatively harmless, just making her a bit uncoordinated and giving her an adorable head tilt.

For almost 10 years, Fay has been a healthy, happy kitty. She enjoyed sitting in her humans’ laps, purring loudly and meowing even louder to demand her coveted chin scratches. When she wasn’t in someone’s lap, her favorite place was the top of her cat tower, where she could bask in the sun and gaze outside the window.

One day, Fayette didn’t eat anything. Initially, it wasn’t much of a concern, as she had always been a finicky eater, but when a few days passed and she had barely eaten a thing, she was taken to the vet. After running numerous tests and finding fluid in her chest, the vet said she very likely had wet FIP, and suggested that she soon be put down. But I knew there was hope. Not two weeks earlier, I had heard of a highly successful cure for FIP. I reached out to the amazing people at FIP Warriors, and Fay has now begun her treatment.

Unfortunately, the medication is not cheap, and I am a college student with hopes of going into canine rehabilitation, so I can volunteer to help other rescues, so money is tight. To everyone who is willing to help Fay win this fight, I am extremely grateful.
