<div>We are friends of August and Beth Trometer, and humbly ask your help as they face heartbreaking medical challenges.
</div>

<div>This past year, with no family in CA, they bravely faced a rollercoaster from the joy of a <strong>miracle pregnancy</strong> to a <strong>devastating thyroid cancer diagnosis</strong>, treatment + surgery, and most recently a debilitating <strong>stroke</strong> leaving August unable to walk and <strong>missing the birth</strong> of his beautiful daughter, Lyric.
</div>
<div>We have now learned <strong>the stroke may be brain cancer due to metastasised thyroid cancer</strong>, which also requires further surgery and treatment.
</div>

<div><strong>To help paint this picture:</strong>

<div>-	May 2023, August, Beth and son, Bond (5 years old), learn Beth is pregnant.
</div>
<div>-	July 15, 2023, August diagnosed thyroid cancer.
</div>
<div>-	January 26, 2024, August surgery to remove half thyroid.
</div>
<div>-	Feb 3 2024 August suffers stroke, admitted to hospital.
</div>
<div>-	Feb 4 2024 August cannot walk or come home, c-section delayed.
</div>
<div>-	Feb 5 2024 Beth gives birth to daughter, Lyric. August misses birth.
</div>
<div>-	Feb 9, 2024, August meets his daughter for 10 minutes.
</div>
<div>-	Feb 12, 2024, August learns remaining thyroid must be removed.
</div>
<div>-	Feb 15, 2024, Insurance will not keep August in care, Beth will be forced to look after him at home with newborn baby, (Beth cannot lift due to c-section recovery).
</div>
<div>-	Feb 17, 2024, family learns possibly brain cancer metastasised from thyroid cancer.
</div>

<div><strong>What We Are Asking:</strong>
</div>
<div>August and Beth have no family in California, but are grateful to a local community of friends pitching in with immediate practical needs.
</div>
<div><strong>What we need is your monetary support.</strong> The road ahead will require at-home nursing, equipment to lift August and help him be mobile, rehabilitation, transportation, further surgeries and treatments. Plus, the realities of caring for a newborn and 5-year-old big brother.
</div>
<div>The easiest way for us to ensure we can meet these compound challenges is to raise money to supplement the loss of income and insurance gaps.
</div>
