Help Family of Jeff Komarowski Stricken With COVID
Donation protected
The year 2020 couldn't be over soon enough for the entire world. The Komarowski clan of Burns Harbor, IN felt the same way. The whole family was looking forward to what the new year would bring. However, that wasn't going to happen.
On New Year's Day 2021, Jeff Komarowski, Local 150 of the Operating Engineers and employed through TMS at ArcelorMittal in East Chicago, IN, woke with a severe headache. He tried to push through the pain, but he wasn't having much luck. He became so ill that by the 12th of January, his fiancé, Amanda Johnson, had to take him to the emergency room as he had started wheezing and complaining of shortness of breath. This was around 1:00 am. Through a rapid result test, they found out he had COVID. Less than six hours later, Jeff was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit where he remains today.
Jeff and his fiancé, Amanda, have two young daughters. Amanda was employed in Michigan until November when she was laid off due to the COVID restrictions in Michigan. She was hoping to be able to go back on February 1st but her future is uncertain as the nurses and doctors try to assess Jeff's prognosis. The nurses are hopeful but Jeff isn't out of the woods yet. He remains in the ICU on oxygen. He is being given medication to help him fight but he and his family need your help.
Any amount donated will help Amanda take care of their daughters and their one year old German Shepherd, Lou.
The family needs your help now.
We continue to pray for Jeff's full recovery.
