Help Family Displaced by Hurricane

We left our home on September 10th to evacuate out of the path of Hurricane Florence not knowing that day would be the last in our home. We only packed a weeks worth of clothing, left sentimental items in all of our rooms, and all had the same thought that we would be able to return by the weekend like many other families probably thought as well. We are now facing the reality that we can’t return to our home and most of the rooms are so damaged we can’t even retrieve any of our belongings. The house is full of black mold and the ceilings caved in on both floors in multiple rooms, the carpet is soaked because the hole that the hurricane made in the roof allowed massive amounts of rain to come in for days. We now have no home to go back to, and the assistance from FEMA has been limited.  Any help would be much appreciated as this is going to be a long road ahead of us as it is for many that we’re impacted by this Hurricane. We have lost everything and are literally starting over. We have evacuated to CT and will use the funds for finding a new home and buying much needed items such as beds, clothing, and other necessities for a senior in high school.
